Once payment is confirmed by the cashier, ATM, or debit kiosk, bitcoin is immediately released from LibertyX to the address you specified when creating your order. If you've purchased a PIN from one of our stores, bitcoin is immediately released to the address you specify at the time of redemption.
Why is my transaction taking so long to confirm?
Your bitcoin is sent instantly after your purchase is complete. Sometimes when the bitcoin network is congested, you may notice your bitcoin is taking a while to fully confirm in your wallet. The speed at which your transaction confirms depends on the miner fee you chose prior to purchasing.
I selected a fast miner fee, but my transaction is still taking too long.
When you select a miner fee, LibertyX sends that fee to the bitcoin network, along with your transaction. If the bitcoin network is congested, the bitcoin network will prioritize higher paying fees first. This means it's possible for other transactions on the network to outbid your fee, and cut to the front of the line.
It's important to remember that your bitcoin has already been sent, and received by your wallet. During bitcoin network congestion, it may just take a little longer than usual for your bitcoin to fully confirm in your wallet.
How do I know if the bitcoin network is congested?
LibertyX adjusts the miner fee regularly to ensure your bitcoin wallet fully confirms your transaction within a reasonable time frame. We adjust these fees based on how congested (if at all) the bitcoin network is. Since the bitcoin network is fully transparent and public, you can view this information via this 3rd party website: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h
